Actually 3D Blocks & Items is a vanilla-like 16x Java resource pack by MattCrowberry that swaps flat sprites for modelled shapes. Furnaces, workbenches, flowers, ladders, rails, crops, pumpkins, the mace and totems all gain depth while the stock palette stays. It applies on the player's side only, and a dedicated host gains nothing from it.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.19 to 26.2. The newest build requires Puzzle and Modefite - Item Definition Backport, optionally Respackopts; some builds for 1.19 to 1.21.11 require Puzzle; some builds for 1.20 to 1.21.11 need no dependencies.
What changes visually
Textures stay at 16x, so the result reads as vanilla with real geometry. Several blocks use randomized models, which breaks up repeated patterns across open terrain.
- Furnaces and workbenches, plus a redesigned bookshelf.
- Flowers, mushrooms, plants, foliage patches and a moss overhang.
- Randomized grass, dead bushes and other randomized blocks.
- Rails, ladders, crops and pumpkins.
- Items such as the mace, totems and amethyst.
How to install Actually 3D Blocks & Items
- 1.Grab the .zip for your release from the Modrinth listing and leave it zipped.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the screen. A pack built for another release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning.
New to the process? The resource pack install guide covers both editions.
Limits and terms
This is a model pack, not a full retexture. It covers a chosen set of blocks and items, and everything else stays stock. For a different take on flowers, see Flower Clusters.
The terms permit use in videos and Modrinth modpacks with credit, and personal edits. Forks, edits you publish and redistribution as your own work all need MattCrowberry's permission.

Questions about Actually 3D Blocks & Items!.
4 questions
How do I install Actually 3D Blocks & Items?
Place the .zip in your resourcepacks folder, which you can reach through Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder. Then move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. Pick the file that matches your release, because the required companions differ between files.
Is Actually 3D Blocks & Items available for Bedrock?
No. It is listed on Modrinth as a Java Edition pack, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Nothing in its listing points to a Bedrock port, so Bedrock players need a separate pack.
Can I use this pack in my own modpack?
Yes, in Modrinth modpacks, as long as you give credit to MattCrowberry. Publishing your own fork or edit, or redistributing the pack as yours, requires permission. Editing it for personal use only is allowed.
Does the pack need to be installed on a dedicated host?
No. The pack is required on the player's side, and dedicated hosts are listed as unsupported. Each player loads it locally, so the models only appear for those who have it enabled.
