Legacy Titles

A Java resource pack that adds Legacy Console Edition title logos, plus custom ones, to the Legacy4J mod. It does nothing without Legacy4J installed.

Legacy Titles is a Java resource pack built for Legacy4J. It adds the per-platform "Edition" title logos from Legacy Console Edition, plus custom titles in the same style. The legacy titles resource pack is client-side only and formerly went by Deck Title for Legacy4J.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.10. The newest build requires Legacy4J; some builds for 1.21.10 need no dependencies.

How to apply Legacy Titles

  1. 1.Install Legacy4J and its dependencies first.
  2. 2.Drop the pack's .zip into the resourcepacks folder and move it to the Selected side. The install guide covers the steps.
  3. 3.Open Help & Options, then Settings, then Game Options, and choose Show Advanced Options (Y on Xbox gamepads, O on keyboard).
  4. 4.Cycle through the titles with the Control Type slider.

What changes visually

The pack collects the Edition titles extracted from Legacy Console Edition and adds fitting custom ones, so the menu matches the platform you want to imitate.

Known limitations

The feature set is narrow by design, a logo collection and nothing more. It is Java only, and a Bedrock install cannot use it.

Does Legacy Titles work without Legacy4J?

No. The pack is made specifically for Legacy4J and requires the mod and its dependencies. Install Legacy4J first, apply the pack, then open Show Advanced Options in the game settings and use the Control Type slider to cycle through the titles.

How do I change the title in Legacy Titles?

With Legacy4J installed and the pack selected, open Help & Options, then Settings, then Game Options. Turn on Show Advanced Options, which is Y on Xbox gamepads and O on keyboard. Then move the Control Type slider to cycle through the titles.

Is Legacy Titles available for Bedrock?

No. It is a Java Edition resource pack for the Legacy4J mod, and it is listed for Java releases from 1.20.1 to 1.21.10. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this Java pack is not meant for it. Look for a separate Bedrock pack if you play there.

Does Legacy Titles need to be installed on a server?

No. It is client-side only, and server use is unsupported. Install it on the machine you play from, alongside Legacy4J.
