Small Handhelds is a Java resource pack that shrinks whatever you hold in your hands, so held items obstruct far less of the view. It covers all items, blocks, weapons and tools, and it applies on your own machine only.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3.

What changes visually

Items held in a hand are made smaller, so they obstruct your view less. The comparisons against vanilla cover a Totem of Undying, a golden carrot, a potion, a firework rocket, and a sword with a shield raised to block.

Configuring with Respackopts

From V4.0 onward the pack is configurable. Install the Respackopts mod to set it up to your liking.

How to install Small Handhelds

  1. 1.Get the .zip from Modrinth and place it in the resourcepacks folder (Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder). The install guide covers the details.
  2. 2.Move Small Handhelds to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
  3. 3.Optional: add Respackopts if you want to configure the pack.

The trade-off is that it is Java only, so Bedrock players need a different pack. A pack made for another release can still load, though it shows an incompatibility warning.

Questions about Small Handhelds.
