Sparkles: Stardust Labs Resourcepack

An optional Java pack from Stardust Labs that textures and translates Incendium and fixes biome names on minimaps. Custom mob, shield and Elytra models need a companion mod.

What Sparkles: Stardust Labs Resourcepack works with.

PlatformJava Edition
Minecraft versions1.19, 1.19.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2

Sparkles is an optional Java resource pack for Stardust Labs projects, and its core job is giving Incendium custom mob and item textures. It also carries a biome name fix so minimap mods can show names, plus translations. It merges the old Incendium Optional Resource Pack with Stardust Biome Name Fix, and it loads on the player's side only.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.19 to 26.2. Some builds for 1.19 to 1.20.1 require Incendium Legacy.

What changes visually

  • Custom mob and item textures for Incendium, including swords, tools and other items.
  • A biome name fix that lets minimaps and similar mods display names, originally made by Kuma.
  • Translations for Incendium and later Stardust Labs projects, added to the pack periodically. Contributions go through the creators' translation website.

The Voltaic Trident is documented with a texture on the wiki, but that texture is not implemented in the pack.

Companion mods and settings

Custom textures and models for mobs, shields and the Elytra need a mod that supports custom entity textures. On Fabric or Forge, that means Entity Texture Features, Entity Model Features and CIT Resewn. OptiFine works on Forge, though the creators no longer advise it in any case.

How to install Sparkles

  1. 1.Get the .zip from the Modrinth page and open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder.
  2. 2.Drop the .zip into the resourcepacks folder.
  3. 3.Move Sparkles to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
  4. 4.Add the companion mods above if you want the mob, shield and Elytra models.

Java resource packs do not work on Bedrock, so players joining through Geyser see none of these textures. Dat1Mexican made a separate Bedrock port of Sparkles for that case.

Questions about Sparkles: Stardust Labs Resourcepack.

5 questions

How do I install the Sparkles resource pack?

Place the .zip in the resourcepacks folder, which Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder opens. Then move Sparkles to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. A pack built for another release can still load, but it shows an incompatibility warning.

Does Sparkles need OptiFine?

No. Companion mods are optional. For mob, shield and Elytra textures, use Entity Texture Features, Entity Model Features and CIT Resewn on Fabric or Forge. OptiFine works on Forge, but the creators no longer advise it. Items such as swords and tools display without any of them.

Is Sparkles available for Bedrock?

The Java pack itself does not work on Bedrock. Dat1Mexican, a member of the Stardust Labs team, made a separate Bedrock port. That matters for players who join an Incendium world through Geyser, since Java resource packs do not apply to them.

Do I need Incendium to use Sparkles?

No. Sparkles is an optional pack, so it does not require Incendium on newer builds. Its main purpose is Incendium textures and translations, so the visual changes are most useful with that datapack. Some older builds do require Incendium Legacy.

Can I add my own language to Sparkles?

Yes. The pack ships translations for several languages, and new ones are added to the main pack periodically. Stardust Labs accepts translation contributions only through its own translation website. Help with contributing is available in the team's Discord.
