Double Jump

ScadeBlock's movement pack adds a mid-air double jump, a charged jump and wall bounces to Java Edition. It ships as a loader mod or a plain datapack.

Double Jump is a movement mod from ScadeBlock that gives Minecraft Java a double jump, a charged jump and wall bounces. It ships as mod files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and as a plain datapack that needs no loader. The server must have it, while the client is optional.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.13 to 26.2. The newest build requires FokusAPI; some builds for 1.13 to 1.21.11 need no dependencies.

What it adds

  • Double jump: press sneak while airborne, then press jump.
  • Charged Jump (2.1 and newer): press sneak before a jump, and hold longer to jump higher. It replaced the older Leap.
  • Wall Bounce (1.0.8 and newer): touching a wall or block gives you an extra mid-air jump.
  • Faster sprinting (1.0.9 and newer): sprint speed rises by 20% over normal.

The effect is a small parkour layer on top of survival movement. Double jump switches itself off in creative mode, so flying builders are unaffected.

Installation

Pick the route that matches your setup. If you are new to loaders, the guide to installing Java mods covers the basics.

  1. 1.Mod route: put the mod file for your loader in the mods folder, along with any dependency file the build asks for, then launch with that loader's profile.
  2. 2.Open the settings menu in the world with /function dbjump:menu/main. Every feature above can be customised there.
  3. 3.To remove it, delete the file from the mods or datapacks folder.

Who it suits

The pack fits survival and adventure worlds that want more vertical movement without a large overhaul. The trade-off is a narrow scope. It changes jumping and sprinting only, and the creative-mode shutoff means it never helps while you build.

Questions about Double Jump.

4 questions

Does Double Jump need to be installed on the server?

Yes. The server side is required, and the client side is optional. On a multiplayer world, whoever hosts it installs the mod or datapack. Players who join do not have to add anything to their own folders to use the jump mechanics.

Can I use Double Jump without a mod loader?

Yes. Use the datapack download instead of a mod file. To remove it later, delete the file from the datapacks folder.

How do I change the Double Jump settings?

Run /function dbjump:menu/main inside the world. That menu customises every feature, including the double jump, charged jump, wall bounce and faster sprinting. Double jump switches itself off in creative mode, regardless of the settings you choose.

How do I double jump once it is installed?

Press sneak while in the air, then press jump. For a higher jump from the ground, press sneak before jumping and hold it longer. Touching a wall or block also gives you an extra mid-air jump through Wall Bounce.
