Autumnpack is a vanilla-like 16x resource pack by InnerToast that turns Java worlds into a fall season. It needs no OptiFine and no other mods, and it works on the player's side only. It is aimed at long-running worlds and multiplayer worlds that sit far from the Dappled Forest.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.6.1 to 26.3.

What changes visually

A new colormap shifts foliage colors, with VanillaTweaks' Golden Savannah embedded. Leaves follow a fixed palette by tree type, and the title screen gets an autumn panorama with custom splash texts.

  • Oak leaves orange, birch yellow, dark oak and acacia red, pale oak dark purple. Spruce stays green and jungle is green or beige by biome.
  • Saplings become acorns, pinecones, catkins, seed pods and similar, one per tree type.
  • Dryer grass with scattered leaves, a retextured podzol and livelier leaf litter.
  • Mushrooms placed in varied amounts.

Halloween extras

Carved pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns pick from 11 faces at random, including Creeper, Ghast, Lego and a Dungeons logo. Golden apples become caramel apples, cookies get frosting, beetroot turns into candy corn, and suspicious stew is renamed Mischievous Brew. Bowl foods arrive in treat baskets and bundles become treat bundles.

Installing and variants

Place the zip in the resourcepacks folder and move it to the Selected side, as the resource pack install guide explains. Players who dislike Halloween are pointed to AutumnPack: Fall Vibes Only, and those who prefer Programmer Art to vanilla textures are pointed to AutumnPack: Programmer Art Edition.

The trade-off is color. The creator warns that leaves can look ugly in some biomes, and the pack recolors the whole world rather than leaving existing builds neutral.

Questions about AutumnPack.

4 questions

Does Autumnpack need OptiFine?

No. The pack runs on vanilla with no extra mods, so it loads like any other resource pack on Java. Put the zip in the resourcepacks folder and move it to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.

Is Autumnpack available for Bedrock?

No. The listing is for Java only, and Bedrock uses a different pack format.

How is Autumnpack different from the Dappled Forest?

The Dappled Forest is a single new biome. Autumnpack recolors the rest of an existing world, so a base far from that biome still gets autumn foliage. It also works on older releases without the biome.

Can I turn off the Halloween changes?

The Halloween changes ship as part of Autumnpack, covering pumpkin faces, caramel apples, candy corn and treat baskets. Players who dislike Halloween are pointed to AutumnPack: Fall Vibes Only, a separate pack, instead.
