Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI is a 16x resource pack for Java that replaces the grey container screens with dark menus themed on the block they belong to. The enchanting table no longer looks like the crafting table, and some screens are animated. It changes visuals only, and it runs without required dependencies, with optional OptiGUI and Animatica for the full effect.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.0 to 26.2. The newest build optionally uses Animatica and OptiGUI.
What changes visually
Each replaced menu takes its colours from its block. The coverage is wide:
- Workstations such as the crafting table, anvil, smithing table, loom, cartography table, grindstone, stonecutter and enchanting table.
- Furnace, blast furnace, smoker, brewing stand, beacon, hopper, dispenser, dropper and the crafter.
- Small, large and ender chests, barrels and shulker boxes in every colour.
- The recipe book, survival inventory, villager professions, a dark advancements menu and a dark loading screen.
Chest boat menus only work through OptiGUI.
Companion mods and settings
OptiFine is needed for animations and for the villager, chest, ender chest, shulker colour and dropper textures. OptiGUI covers the same textures plus the chest boat screens, and Animatica supplies the animations alongside it. The creator recommends OptiGUI and Animatica over OptiFine. Respackopts adds the in-game pack options.
How to install Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI
- 1.Grab the .zip from the CurseForge page and leave it zipped.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the file in.
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side, then set the language that matches your setup.
A pack built for another release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning. The trade-off is plain: without OptiFine or OptiGUI you get the dark menus but lose several textures and every animation.
Questions about Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI.
4 questions
Does Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI need OptiFine?
No mod is required to load the pack. OptiFine or OptiGUI is needed for the villager, chest, ender chest, shulker colour and dropper textures. Animations need OptiFine, or OptiGUI together with Animatica. Chest boat screens only work through OptiGUI.
How do I install Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI?
Put the .zip in the resourcepacks folder, which you can open from Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder. Then move the pack to the Selected side of the screen and choose the language that suits your OptiGUI or OptiFine setup.
Is Colourful Containers Dark Mode GUI available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack listed on CurseForge, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Players on Bedrock need a separate pack made for that edition.
Why are some textures not working?
Usually OptiFine or OptiGUI is missing, or the wrong language is selected. Install OptiGUI with Animatica, then pick a modded language. Without those mods, use the Vanilla language instead.
