Dark Smooth GUI is a simplistic, themed resource pack for Java that gives every container and screen a smooth dark look. It applies on your own machine only, and a multiplayer host does not need it. Aeldit publishes it on Modrinth, and it has passed 850,000 downloads.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.17 to 26.3. The newest build optionally uses CTM Selector, Simple Voice Chat, Sodium, Armor Hud, [ETF] Entity Texture Features, Client Sort, Axiom, ItemSwapper, Sophisticated Storage in Motion (Unofficial Fabric port), Inventory Tabs, Iris Shaders, EMI, Sophisticated Storage (Unofficial Fabric port), Mod Menu, Sophisticated Backpacks (Unoffical Fabric port) and No Chat Reports; some builds for 1.21.6 require CTM Selector, Sodium, [ETF] Entity Texture Features, Axiom, ItemSwapper, Inventory Tabs, Iris Shaders, EMI and Mod Menu.
What changes visually
The pack adds a smooth dark GUI to every container and screen in the game.
Mod interface support
Aeldit describes the pack as supporting the GUIs of many mods. The compatibility table on the Modrinth page includes EMI, Axiom, ItemSwapper, Mod Menu and the Sophisticated series. Which of these a build asks for depends on the release, as the supported versions list shows.

Questions about Dark Smooth GUI.
3 questions
How do I install Dark Smooth GUI?
Save the .zip from Modrinth, open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder in Java, and drop the file in. Back in the Resource Packs screen, move the pack to the Selected side. It works as a normal resource pack and needs no loader.
Is Dark Smooth GUI available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack only. Modrinth hosts Java content, and Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this file will not load there. Bedrock players need a pack made for that format.
Does Dark Smooth GUI need any mods?
No. The newest release requires nothing and works as a plain resource pack. Its listed optional mods include Mod Menu, EMI and Axiom, which you can add if you already use them.
