Emissive Glowing Ores is a vanilla-like 16x resource pack for Java that makes ore blocks glow, so veins stand out in dark caves and tunnels. TheBugCoder made it for OptiFine on Forge and for Continuity on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. It loads on the player's machine only and is unsupported on hosted worlds.

How to install Emissive Glowing Ores
- 1.Install OptiFine or Continuity first, or any other mod that supports emissive textures.
- 2.Put the pack's .zip in the resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 4.Load a world and head underground. The general steps are in the resource pack install guide.
What changes visually
The pack adds glowing textures to overworld and nether ores. These blocks become emissive:
- Overworld ores: iron, coal, redstone, emerald, diamond, lapis lazuli, gold and copper.
- Nether blocks: ancient debris, gilded blackstone, nether quartz ore and nether gold ore.
The effect is most useful in unlit caves, where an ore shows through the dark from a distance.
Known limitations
The emissive effect covers the twelve blocks above, and the pack is Java only. The mod requirement is the real cost, since the pack does nothing on its own.

Why are my emissive ores not glowing?
The pack only supplies the glowing textures. A mod has to render them, so OptiFine on Forge, Continuity on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge or Quilt, or another mod that supports emissive textures must be installed. Without one, the ores look completely vanilla.
Does Emissive Glowing Ores work without OptiFine?
Yes, if you use Continuity or another mod that supports emissive textures. Continuity covers Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. OptiFine is listed for Forge. Having none of these means nothing will change.
Is Emissive Glowing Ores available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack hosted on Modrinth, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. The pack targets 16x Java play only.
Which ores does Emissive Glowing Ores make glow?
