Stained Glass Ultra is a simplistic 16x resource pack for Java that makes stained glass and glass panes far more opaque and vibrant. It is a player-side pack, so it changes what you see and nothing else. Glass skyscrapers stop looking like they float in thin air.

What changes visually
MrUltra's argument is simple. Vanilla stained glass is too transparent, and this pack makes it stained rather than tinted. Blocks and panes become more opaque and vibrant.
Opaque glass would look wrong in menus, so the pack includes a set of less opaque custom item textures. Glass still reads as glass in your inventory while the placed blocks stay rich in colour.
Shaders and connected textures
- Shader support comes through labPBR.
- Connected textures work with OptiFine or Continuity, and one of them is required for that feature.
- Without either, you still get the opaque colours, only without connected glass.
How to install Stained Glass Ultra
- 1.Save the .zip into your resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 2.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 3.Drag it above any other pack that touches glass.
- 4.Add OptiFine or Continuity if you want connected textures. The install guide covers the basics.
The trade-off is deliberate. You lose the see-through softness of vanilla glass.

How do I install Stained Glass Ultra?
Put the .zip in your resourcepacks folder, which you can open from Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder. Then move the pack to the Selected side of the screen. Place it above any other pack that changes stained glass, or those textures will override it.
Does Stained Glass Ultra need OptiFine?
No. The opaque textures work on their own. OptiFine or Continuity is only required if you want the connected textures support. Without one of them, the opaque colours still apply.
Does Stained Glass Ultra work with shaders?
Yes. The pack supports shaders through labPBR, so shader packs that read labPBR data can use it. It also includes less opaque item textures, so glass still looks like glass in your inventory.
Is Stained Glass Ultra available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack only, listed with Minecraft 1.8 to 26.3 support. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this one will not load there.
