Armor Hider is a Minecraft Java mod for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge that fades or fully hides armor, enchantment glint and offhand items on your player model. It is required on the client and optional on the server, and it adds a settings screen styled to look like part of vanilla. Plugin releases for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur and Folia servers also exist, which is what an armor hider plugin search is usually after.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric and Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3. The newest build requires Eunomia, optionally LuckPerms; some builds for 1.20 to 26.3 need no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.21 to 26.3. The newest build requires Eunomia, optionally LuckPerms; some builds for 1.21 to 26.3 need no dependencies.
What you can hide
- Opacity sliders for helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots and offhand.
- Glint control, so enchanted pieces can lose the shimmer on any slot.
- Combat detection that shows your armor again when a fight starts.
- A choice over whether armor is drawn while you are under an invisibility potion.
- Presets, keybindings for the toggle and settings screen, and a live in-game preview.
- Per-item rules for custom items, so you decide which ones Armor Hider handles.
Multiplayer behavior
Settings sync across multiplayer, so other players see your choices when the server also runs the mod. Without it on the server, Armor Hider still works for your own view. Operators get admin controls, and where the server allows it you can set how other players are drawn, either for everyone or player by player.
Compatibility
Armor Hider has explicit support for visual mods including Elytra Trims, Female Gender Mod, GeckoLib, Accessories, Trinkets, Curios, Iris and EMF. Armor drawn through Fabric API's ArmorRenderer is hidden and faded like vanilla armor with no extra work. Resource packs with EMF or non-EMF armor models work too, with an option to use vanilla armor in combat. Developers can reuse the hiding logic through an API.

- 2.Pick the file for your loader and Minecraft release, and add any required library listed above.
- 3.Put the mod file in the mods folder and launch with the loader profile.
- 4.Open the settings screen with its keybinding and adjust the sliders.
Questions about Armor Hider.
3 questions
Is there an armor hider plugin for servers?
Yes. Armor Hider ships plugin releases for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur and Folia alongside the Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge mods. Those plugin releases need no dependencies. The mods also work client-side only, with no server mod required, and other players see your settings when the server has the mod.
Does Armor Hider work without the mod on the server?
Yes. It works client-side only, and you will see your own armor faded or hidden. Other players see your settings only when the server also has Armor Hider installed, since multiplayer sync depends on it.
Can I hide the enchantment glint without hiding armor?
Yes. Glint control is separate from opacity, so you can hide the shimmer on any slot while keeping the armor fully visible. Each slot has its own setting.
