Ashen 16x is a medieval-fantasy 16x resource pack for Minecraft Java Edition by Aim__Boot. It reworks the look of the whole game while staying faithful to vanilla's original vision, and it suits builders who want a warmer, more rustic world at standard resolution.

How to install Ashen 16x
- 1.Download the .zip from the CurseForge page linked on this resource.
- 2.In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in without unpacking it.
- 3.Move Ashen to the Selected side of the screen. A pack made for another release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning.

What changes visually
The pack carries textures for every in-game asset, excluding Realms assets and the font, which is offered as a standalone download. Many blocks and items get custom models, and there are extra block variants that add detail to builds. Mob variants appear when the pack is paired with a mod like OptiFine.
Add-on packs and compatibility
Aim__Boot publishes separate add-on packs for those who want to change parts of the look. They include Autumn Forest, Custom Mobs, Emissive Ores, Simple Foliage, Simple Glass, Vanilla Scaffolding, Legacy Glass, a mod compatibility pack and a custom font.
Since Ashen 1.2 the pack should be compatible with Fresh Animations out of the box, with Ashen placed above it in the load order. Full compatibility is not guaranteed.

How do I install Ashen 16x?
Download the .zip from CurseForge and place it, still zipped, in the resourcepacks folder. You can open it through Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder. Then move Ashen to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. No other files are needed for the base pack.
Does Ashen 16x need OptiFine?
The base pack does not list any required mod. Mob variants appear when the pack is paired with a mod like OptiFine.
Is Ashen 16x available for Bedrock?
No. Ashen is a Java Edition pack. The creator has only played Java and describes a Bedrock port as very low on the to-do list, so one is unlikely any time soon.
Does Ashen 16x work with Fresh Animations?
