Punched Books! is a compatibility resource pack for Java. It sits between the Punchy! mod and other packs and mods that add 3D books, and it fixes one thing, the books. It is the punched books resource pack for anyone running Punchy! alongside those 3D book add-ons.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.19.3 to 26.3. The newest build requires Punchy! and Bray & Cyber's Better, Fresher 3D Books, optionally Ars Nouveau.
What changes visually
Many mods and packs have no support for Punchy! yet. Punched Books! fills that gap for books only, so everything else in your setup stays as it was.

- Ars Nouveau, including the worn book.
- Nothing beyond books. Blocks, items and the rest of your look are untouched.
How to install Punched Books!
The creator states that Better, Fresher 3D Books is required, and the pack's page says the books would look ugly without it. Punchy! is also required, and the creator advises using its newest release. The pack is client side only, so a multiplayer host needs nothing from it.
- 1.Install the Punchy! mod and download Better, Fresher 3D Books.
- 2.Put the Punched Books! .zip in the resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.

The trade-off is plain. This pack does nothing on its own, it needs two other downloads, and it makes sense only if you run Punchy!.

Do I need Better, Fresher 3D Books to use Punched Books!?
Yes, install it. The creator notes you could technically skip it, but the books would look ugly without it. Punched Books! patches how that pack's books display under Punchy!, so the two are meant to be used together, with Punchy! installed as well.
Is Punched Books! available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java resource pack that depends on the Punchy! mod, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. There is no Bedrock file listed for this project, so Bedrock players should look for a separate book pack.
Does Punched Books! need to be installed on a multiplayer host?
No. It is a client-side resource pack, and the host does not support it. Install it on your own machine, along with Punchy! and Better, Fresher 3D Books, and the books will render correctly for you.
